Diesel Cycle, Base for the diegn of Diesel engine.

Diesel Cycle Explained.
Don't Click Here: The diesel cycle is the theoretical background on which a diesel engine was constructed. In this topic we are discussing about the two aspects of the diesel cycle:Click Here: Kerala Kitchen (Cookery channel)
  1. Theoretical diesel cycle
  2. Actual diesel cycle.
Theoretical diesel cycle: As explained in the video and shown in fig:1, it is denoted with a pressure volume graph, pressure in "Y axis" and volume in "X axis".--Technical Videos--
Fig:1, Diesel Cycle.
It amuses that as the process starts "1" the cylinder is full of air, and from 1-2 the adiabatic (no heat transfer is involved in this process) compression of air is happening. From 2-3 constant pressure combustion is happening, from 3-4 again adiabatic expansion of air is happening and from 4-1 exhaust.

This is just a theoretical concept the actual working is different, the adiabatic process is not involved in actual diesel cycle as its impossible to produce an engine with no heat transfer involved.
Actual diesel cycle: As shown in fig: 1, 1-2 the intake process in happening, 2-3 compression, 3-4 combustion, 4-5 expansion and from 5-1 exhaust, as mentioned above no adiabatic process is involved in practical concept.  --Technical Videos--
