Flywheel is the power take off point of an engine. It is mounted to the crank shaft and takes the power from the crank shaft to the transmission (gear box). In this video you can see the flywheel casing and the crank shaft mounting point of the flywheel. How fly wheel is manually aligned with the crank shaft is also shown here.
